Let’s Roll!!!

Haven’t posted in a while. Happy New Year everyone. I’ve been so busy at work, making toys, die-cast, yeah it’s a pretty rad job, but shiiiit, keeps me busy. I want to get back to posting and creating art just for the hell of it. I do some freelance, but don’t always post it up, by the time it’s finished and it’s OK to post, I’m already on to the next thing and the next thing. haha. Story of my life. So things that have happened, I lost my older brother in November, he was a good dude, had a troubled life and made some bad decisions, but I loved him and he will be deeply missed. I’m working on a big project at work, can’t say what yet, but it’s going to be awesome. Also working on a Rat Fink painting for Vintage Torque Fest. Looking forward to being creative and letting loose. Gangsterbilly is still going, but I am trying to move the old inventory (it’s all on clearance right now, go cop you some! http://www.gangsterbilly.com) so I can design and make room for some new stuff . I have a new rig at home and ready to do some new exciting stuff, update my site finally and sketch, sketch, sketch. So with that said,  Let’s Roll!

Here’s a video for the New Year, Yelawolf and Kid Rock “Let’s Roll”

RIP Steve Jobs 1955-2011

Really upsetting to hear the news of the loss of Steve Jobs. Today the world lost a great one, a visionary, an innovator. He’s responsible for bringing so many amazing things into our lives, Macs which I can’t live without, I use one every day to make a living and will for who knows how long, it puts food on my table, no lie. iPods, iPads, the iPhone! Things that we didn’t know we needed, and now we can’t live without! We sit there thinking how did I ever get by without this thing before? He helped co-found Pixar animation studios, one of my favorite studios, they produce the best movies that are not only fun, but inspiring. He was a genius, the world has lost a man who changed peoples lives and the way we think! How many people can say that about their lives? RIP Steve.

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Sometimes The Stars

WOW!!!! I just realized I haven’t blogged for a long time! My birthday? sheeesh. Anyways, I was looking for some design inspiration tonight and came across this awesome video from The Audreys. Beautiful!!! I’ll be going to Hong Kong again soon, maybe this time I’ll actually post my pictures up! SLACKER!!! haha, You guys gotta understand, I’m a busy guy. Working on some great things at Maisto, involving Marvel, Ferrari, R/C cars, 2012 is going to be more awesome than 2011!!! Just wait! Also got some cool things cooking with Wahoo’s, RareInk (I’ll just say…. Ice Cube!), and a tee for the Road Devil’s Devil’s Brigade! Enjoy this bitchin video, I think I will watch it over and over tonight!

“Sometimes the Stars” is a gorgeous new song from Adelaide, Australia band The Audreys, taken from their 2010 album of the same name. The accompanying short animated film, produced by Luke Jurevicius and directed by Ari Gibson & Jason Pamment, is about a lost girl’s journey through a surreal landscape, and her yearning to make a connection in this distant yet strangely familiar world.

35 and Still Alive!

well…sort of. My Zombie heart is still kickin for sure! Hope everyone had a Happy and Safe Halloween by the way! The Zombies were walking the realm of the living once again.  We had a great weekend with the kids, carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating and watching scary movies! Well, about a week ago I celebrated my 35th Birthday with some of my close friends and family. It was great! It is kind of creepy though, I’m not gonna lie, reaching an age that my father didn’t make it to (he passed away when he was 34) and realizing there is so much more life in me to live! I don’t plan on quitting or giving up any time soon! I have way too much to live for.

Which one doesn’t match? We are starting a new rockabilly boy band… What’ya think? “Fast Eddie and The Munsters?” Yeah, maybe not. My primo Matt, Castro, Kev, and Carlos!

Some of my familia, my Lil bro Tony, Primo Matt, Lil Sis Marie, and ME.

Me and Mamas were the champs of the Beer Pong table… then with a distraction from the “5-O”, we lost the belts in a clutch last minute shot. Damn you (insert city name here) PD, Damn you!!!!

I scored some cool presents, a nice bottle of Sailor Jerry Rum, Some Jack and Coke in an awesome basket, Some gift cards to my favorite spot, a ticket to my favorite band Godsmack’s concert (Thanks Primo!!!) that I had to give up unfortunately cause I’ll be out of town on business (BOO!), SONS OF ANARCHY season 2 on BLU-RAY (FTW!), and a badass skate deck designed and signed by my homie LOS III.

Thanks to everyone who came out and for all the awesome birthday wishes I received via text and facebook, voicemails. You all kick arse! My friends and familia are who make me the man I am and I appreciate every one of you!

NASCAR Pepsi Max 400, Auto Club Speedway

On 10/10/10, my family and I (well most of us) attended our first ever NASCAR race. It was pretty amazing. The sound and power these cars have is unbelievable! It is unlike anything I’ve ever attended. I knew they were loud and fast, but WOW, I had no idea. We got there really early and thanks to our buddy at Auto Club Speedway had pit pass access which was really cool, my son Jake loved it! Everything except the whole “walking” part.

So in the pit we got stopped by some of the Auto Club Speedway crew and they asked Jake who his favorite racer was, he didn’t have one since we are fairly new to all this NASCAR stuff. The guy said, well have you heard of Tony Stewart? He’s pretty good, and gave Jake a lugnut off of Tony’s #14 Car. Jake was stoked and I think he now has a favorite driver/car. Here is Tony’s car being pushed into the pit area.

Jake’s not sure what to make of all this… but I think he likes it.

So after all that excitement, we walked up to our seats and waited for the start of the race. The national anthem by Kenny Loggins was awesome, and then the fly over, wow! I’ve never seen Jake’s eyes so BIG!

And then the race started with those famous words “Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!” It was pretty loud, they went around slow at first, then the race started… WOW!!!!!

After that awesome day, Jake getting a lucky lugnut, finding his favorite driver/car, who wins? TONY STEWART #14!!! Turns out it’s his first victory in California, how awesome is that?

Special Thanks to Josh and Everyone at Auto Club Speedway for the great time! We will be back for more!

Sea No Evil

hahahaha, I know, I know, kinda lame posting this now, but I’m finally taking a few minutes to post some pics I’ve had for a few weeks now. I’m not gonna repeat what you’ve already seen, but here are some pics I took at the Dimex/Hydro 74 signing, and at Sea No Evil. If you want the full Sea No Evil coverage you have to go to the DSTROYR blog, because my camera died on me. LAME!!!! Anyhow, long story, but after this day, I ended up owing Hydro 74, $20. Awesome. You can still buy some of the great art that didn’t sell at the show for a steal here. Anyways it was cool hanging out with Jon Chase (DSTROYR), Jason and Deph (To Die For), Munk One, Hydro 74, Maxx 242, Los Fokos, Angry Woebots, and Fulton of Salvation Army. Good times.
